Did you spot a fairy in Mumbai?

schedule - May 16 2007 - 159 Views - Mansi
Speculation is rife that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new offering SAAWARIYA, which is scheduled to hit the screens on 9th November [Diwali week], will not make it on the date. Reportedly, Bhansali doesn’t want to hurry things up just because he has to meet the deadline.“It’s completely untrue. SAAWARIYA is definitely arriving on 9th November,” Uday Singh, who heads Sony Pictures in India, tells me, “We’ve locked the date. There’s no shifting forward.” Sony Pictures is producing this keenly awaited film. It’s a known fact that Sony Pictures is keen to give SAAWARIYA an extensive global release. But not many are aware that the film will be dubbed in several foreign languages to cater to the local markets. “See, it all depends on the Country Manager. It’s not right for me to comment on it. It’s their [Country Manager] decision entirely,” Uday says. The print position is also unconfirmed. “Like water finds its own level, similarly the content finds its own level. We’ll decide on the prints at the time of release. It’s too early to talk about it,” he says, “What’s confirmed, however, is 9th November.” Hope this clarification silences the rumor mongers who thrive on speculation!

Abhishek to romance Rani on screen

After his honeymoon with Ash, Abhishek Bachchan will begin shooting a romantic song with Rani Mukherjee .Abhi’s first movie assignment after his marriage to Aishwarya Rai will be for Yash Raj Films Laaga Chunari Mein Daag . The film, based on a female-centric theme, has Rani Mukherjee, Konkona Sen Sharma and Jaya Bachchan in main roles. Though the film has been mostly shot in Banaras and Mumbai, the shooting unit will be flying to Spain for a song to be filmed on Abhishek and Rani. The song, titled ‘Zara Muskura Ke Chalo’, has been composed by Shantanu Moitra and written by Swanand Kirkire. It is a lilting romantic track with a dash of Spanish flavour to its melody. It would be interesting to see whether Abhi and Rani are able to retain their former onscreen chemistry after Abhi’s marriage to Ash. There have been rumours of cold vibes between Abhi and Rani because she was not even invited to the wedding by the Bachchans. In all likelihood, even if there are some issues between Abhi and Rani, the two stars will keep the personal matters aside and show their true professional selves by slipping into romantic mood for the song to be shot in Spain.
