Sunday, June 10, 2007

Aishwarya Rai’s Hollywood film, The Last Legion, has topped the Russian box office charts. The film has grossed over Rs 8 crores in its opening week in Russia. Co-starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Colin Firth (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Love Actually), this is Ash’s first foreign film, where she plays a non-Indian character. However, the film’s India release has been postponed.Aishwarya plays the role of a warrior princess with the distinctively Indian name Mira. She has done her own stunts in the film that include horse riding and sword fighting. The film was scheduled to hit theatres in India in April but apparently, it seems the makers were requested to postpone their release to August, keeping in mind Ash’s high profile wedding to Abhishek Bachchan.
